Star Spangled Banner - Whitney Houston

In memory of one of the very BEST SINGERS of all time.

I get chills every time I watch this!!

I know many of the students at Clarksville Primary School don't know who Whitney Houston is.  But, she was a wonderful singer who inspired Mrs. Stahl!  She was popular (like Justin Beiber) when Mrs. Stahl was a little girl!

This is the very best National Anthem I've ever heard.

Who Will Be My Valentine?

This week in music, we are playing a fun Valentine's Day game called Who Will Be My Valentine?

Each student selects a heart piece from the box.  They can't let anyone see what picture is on.  When the music starts, they turn their card around and look for their "valentine" match!  They LOVE it.

Bobby McFerrin

The Musician of the Month for February is Bobby McFerrin.

We are exploring how he uses his voice to make instrument sounds!  All the sounds you hear in his music were made from his voice only!

Don't Worry, Be Happy is probably his most famous song.  It won Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal performance at the Grammy awards in 1989.
(Yes, that IS Robin Williams in the video!!)

His voice has provided music for several movies, tv shows, and cartoons.  Here are a few examples:

Theme song for Son of the Pink Panther

Cosby Show Theme Song

Knick Knack by Pixar

I've Gotta Feeling . . .

My husband works at Russellville High School.  And, on Wednesday, they made a lipdub to the song "I've Gotta Feeling".  The day after, he emailed it to me.  And, it was soooo cool, I decided to show Mrs. Fowler's class.  They liked it so much, that they told other students.  Kids have been coming in asking about it.  So, here it is.  Enjoy!
